6 A Side report 2009

The Park’s annual junior six a side competitions suffered mixed fortunes this season as the under15s event fell foul of the weather but the under 13s enjoyed an excellent day despite the conditions being far from ideal. Ten teams from the East Riding took part with Thixendale getting the better of Fenner in the first semi final and Stamford Bridge gaining the upper hand over Hull Zingari in the second. The Bridge boys went one better in the final to get their name on the trophy for the third time in four years. Thanks to organiser Paul Copeland and club members who volunteered to provide another successful event in the Park’s calendar.

Info for club members

The Junior six-a-sides are almost upon us and for these days to be successful we need the generous help and support of as many people as possible: sharing the workload makes the day a pleasurable one for everyone and allows volunteers to enjoy a mix of helping to raise valuable funds for the club end enjoying the cricket on view.

The main areas requiring help on the day include the refreshment bar and BBQ as well as needing several umpires and scorers throughout the day.

If you are able to help on the day therefore (or support in other ways such as baking cakes, making sandwiches etc) then please can you let me know as soon as possible. Please help where you can, even if it's only for a few hours, as we can't do this without you :)

Also, could the managers of the U15 and U13 age groups encourage the parents of your players to you help please, as many of their children will be directly involved on the day.
