"We wish all our boys from Londesborough Park well in their quests to develop in the game. Most of all we encourage everyone of them to enjoy the great opportunities they have open to them. With five junior teams now playing in the York & District Leagues we are providing everyone of our junior cricketers a real chance to take an active part in the Club. LPCC Junior Cricket Highlights 2011

The 2011 junior season must surely be the most successful one in the clubs history with teams and individuals recording unprecedented levels of achievement in their respective age groups.

Under 9s:

Was a very young team this season and produced some very promising performances as the season progressed to give plenty of encouragement for 2012.

Under 11s:

Finished in a very creditable 4th place in the first season of the Y&DJCA ‘Hard Ball’ division; losing only 2 of their 8 matches. The under 11s really came to the fore however in the Hard Ball Cup Final with a well earned victory over Sheriff Hutton Bridge.

Under 13s:

An amazing season was rounded off in superb style as in four days Londesborough won the York and District Junior League under 13’s cup with a victory over York followed up a couple of days later by a league play-off semi final victory and finally with a crushing victory in the play off final against Thixendale. Fifteen matches, fifteen wins is a record of which to be very proud. What’s more, no opposition side came close to challenging this very talented team. This has indeed been a season for all those involved to remember.

Under 15s:

Eliminated early in the Cup but won six out of nine league matches finishing third behind very strong teams from York and Sheriff Hutton Bridge who both went on to contest the league championship final.

Under 18s (Intermediate Team):

Completed its best season ever; by winning the Northern section of the competition before losing narrowly, in the semi final play-off, to eventual champions Pickering.

Coaching/Development Programmes:

Greg Drewery, Stephen Croft, Nathan Saltmer, Ben & Joe Shingles, Harry Gamble, Lewis Medley, Jonty Atkinson and Tommy Hudson were all awarded places on the YCB Bronze Pathways to Excellence Programme whilst James Hanley was promoted to the Silver group at Headingley.

Ciaran Brooke, Jake Hemsworth, Sam Wake, Tommy Hudson, Rory Stephenson, Lucas Stephenson, Jonty Atkinson, Harry Gamble, Philip Mitchell, Toby Stephenson, Billy Salmon, Nathan Saltmer, Ben Shingles, Joe Shingles, William Stephenson, Greg Drewery and Christopher Mitchell were invited to attend the Development Programmes being run on behalf of East Yorkshire Junior Cricket.

Representative Honours:

The club registered its most successful season ever at representative level with sixteen boys representing the club at District level and three at County level:

East Yorkshire Teams:

u11s - Ciaran Brooke, Tommy Hudson (Capt), Lucas Stephenson, Rory Stephenson, Sam Wake

u12s - Jonty Atkinson, Harry Gamble, Lewis Medley, Toby Stephenson

u13s - Nathan Saltmer (Capt), Ben Shingles, Joe Shingles

u14s - Stephen Croft, James Hanley

u15s - Greg Drewery (Capt), Christopher Mitchell

Yorkshire Schools ‘A’ and ‘B’ Teams:

u12 ‘B’ - Jonty Atkinson

u13 ‘B’ – Nathan Saltmer

u14 ‘A’ – James Hanley

Notable Achievements:

For the second successive season James Hanley recorded a century whilst playing for Yorkshire ‘A’ whilst  Nathan Saltmer opened his Yorkshire representative account with two centuries when playing for Yorkshire ‘B’ in the Taunton Festival.

In summary, an incredibly successful season which bodes well for the future of the club as more and more of these youngsters continue to make progress towards becoming established performers in the club’s senior teams.
